The Marine Centre
The Fermeuse Marine Centre was officially opened in 1990, by then Federal Minister of Fisheries, John C. Crosbie. The facility was constructed during 1989-1990 at a total cost of $2,787,274.00 including land (equipment excluded). The property consists of a 2.3801 hectare site.
The U-shaped wharf is constructed of continuos rock, filled crib system with a concrete deck. This structure extends 33.5 metres from the shoreline and has a deck area of 466.04 square metres. The total cubic content of the wharf structure is estimated to be in the order of approximately 3,650 cubic metres. This wharf facilitates the use of a 150 ton Marine Travelift.
The property has access to all normal connections such as fresh municipal water services and a fire hydrant located within the facility. The yard area has a total of eight electrical outlets, capable of supporting electric welders. Boats can be repaired, fiberglassed, welded, or have maintenance work done while docked at the facility. The Fermeuse Marine Centre also has fish landing facilities.

The Fermeuse Marine Service Centre became a private facility in 1999.
